No Smoking Policy
In our setting, we prioritise the health and well-being of all individuals, including children, staff members, volunteers, parents, and carers.
To comply with health and safety regulations and the Safeguarding and Welfare requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage, we maintain a strict no-smoking or vaping environment both indoors and outdoors. The following guidelines outline our no-smoking and vape policy:
Non-Smoking or No Vaping Premises: Our premises are designated as non-smoking or Vaping areas, prohibiting the use of cigarettes and e-cigarettes. This applies to all indoor and outdoor spaces within the setting.
Preschool Trips: Staff members and volunteers are not permitted to smoke or vape, when they are away from the premises on preschool trips. We maintain a smoke-free, vape free environment to ensure the health and well-being of all children and adults involved.
Awareness and Information: All staff members, parents, and volunteers are informed about our comprehensive no-smoking or no vaping policy. This policy is clearly stated in our information for parents, ensuring that everyone is aware of our commitment to providing a smoke-free environment.
Support to Quit Smoking: We actively encourage no-smoking or vaping by providing information for parents and staff on where to seek help to quit smoking. We understand that some individuals may be seeking assistance to stop smoking or vaping and we are committed to supporting their efforts.
Smoking during Working Hours: Staff members who smoke or vape are strictly prohibited from smoking or vaping during their working hours. We maintain a smoke-free environment to promote a healthy and safe setting for children and staff alike.
Avoidance of Smoky Environments: We prioritise the well-being of children by not taking them into smoky environments. Whenever possible, we choose venues and locations that strictly prohibit smoking or vaping.
